All Federal Member State Presidents will attend another round of talks with President Mohamed Farmaajo in what appears to be a compromise deal by Villa Somalia following demands by Ahmed Madobe and Abdullahi Deni.
Goobjoog News has learnt that the leaders of Galmudug, South West and HirShabelle will now head to Mogadishu where Madobe and Deni are already in.
A planned meeting between Farmaajo, Deni and Madobe failed to kick off this week after the two regional leaders put down demands.
Among the demands were that the rest of the Federal Member State (FMS) must be present. Madobe is also reported to have demanded the withdrawal of federal troops in Gedi region in addition to a relinquishing of a Federal Government appointed administration in the same region.
US ambassador to Somalia Donald Yamamoto welcomed the inclusion of the other leaders.
“The US embassy in Somalia appreciate Villa Somalia for bringing FMS leaders together in Mogadishu,” a tweet from the embassy read in part.
Yamamoto also hailed Galmudug’s Ahmed Qoorqoor for ‘leadership on Dhusamareb 3 process
The leaders are expected to deliberate and adopt a compromise electoral model for the upcoming elections.
