Federal Ministry of Post and Telecommunication restore efforts over Internet service

The Federal Ministry of Post and Telecommunication is busy on how to re-establish the lost internet connection for the last seven days.

Speaking to Goobjoog News the Director General Ahmed Haji Abdi mentioned the lack of internet communication in the southern part of the country.

“Internet service is off in Mogadishu especially from south central region of Somalia due to problems to undersea cable. We have constant contact with the concerned entity on daily basis” said Director General Ahmed.

The lack of internet service has a huge negative impact on the country and it’s believed a Somali owned vessel struck the cable causing the damages that led to the failure of the internet connection.

The disconnection has partially paralyzed services across many sectors in the country as well as communication with the outside wolrd.
