Federal Parliament holds joint session to debate 2020 national budget

A joint session of the Federal Parliament is on course today at the Lower House buildings for debate of the 2020 Appropriations Bill.

The joint session is part of the agreements between the leadership of the two Houses to hold joint debates on the National Budget following a row last year which saw the Senate left out of the process.

The Cabinet approved a $469.5 million budget for 2020 early this month up from $344m in 2019. Finance Minister Abdirahman Beileh is expected to present the Bill for First Reading.
