Five New Political Parties were Registered Today in Mogadishu

The National Independent Electoral Commission (NIEC) of Somalia has today announced the registration of five new political parties in the country.

These parties are joining the 10 parties previously registered by the commission, and the total will be 15 registered political parties.

Speaker of the National Independent Electoral Commission, Halimo Ismail Ibrahim, told a brief press conference: “It is one of the successful, we are really proud of, and we are still going through historic events, the parties function is to eliminate tribalism election in the country, the leaders of the country have agreed on a historic decision in Baidoa conference on how Somalia will held on one person vote in the whole country on 2020 election.”

Mohamed Macalin, chairman of the National solution party one of the new appointed parties has thanked the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission for their unforgatble role in the country.

Moahmed said “I am the chairman of one of the five newly appointed Parties who received their Certificates today, I would like to thank the committee and the leadership of the political parties who have already received their certificates, we have done a great deal of work together, the Somali community has gone such political parties in the country on 1960’s, and now we hope that today the parties will end the tribalism elections.

  1. Somali Partriotism and Development Party
  2. Justice and Safety Fair Party
  3. Somali Personality and Society Party
  4. Somali People’s Party
  5. The National Solution Party
