Former Mahas DC spends hours behind bars

Somali government soldiers supported by Ethiopian troops have apprehended Mahas former district commissioner, Muumin Mohamed Hallane on Thursday, sources say.

The former DC was arrested after he turn down to hand over the office to newly government appointed DC named Mohamed Maow Hallane.

Mahas police commissioner, Hassan Hajji Hussein speaking to Goobjoog News has the arrest of the DC.

“Muunin was detained after he refused to hand over the responsibility to the administration of Mahas district, disrupted the security of the district therefore my soldiers accompanied by AMSOM troops have gone to his place to arrest him” he said.

He added “Muunin attempted to create enmity within the public and he will be taken to the justice”
