Galkaayo town council establishment in final stages

Puntland government said the process to establish a town council for Galkaayo is in its final stage.

The chairman of the committee which was given the task of picking out, Abdiaziz Ahmed Bulhan said that they are busy on the process of selecting the members of the upcoming council. The selected members of the city council will elect a mayor among themselves.

“The committee received 90 applications from the people willing to vie for the seats of council member to serve in that position” he said.

Galkaayo town has witnessed massive developments for the past months and today counts as the most developed towns
