Galmudug is ready to talk with AhluSunna, says deputy president

Deputy President of Galmudug, Mohamed Hashi Arabay said that Galmudug wants to hold talks with Ahlusuna Waljama to resolve disagreement over the control of the central regions.

“We are ready to extend calls for talks to them, and Ahlu Sunna has to play a big role in security and stabilization of central regions,” he said in a message to the armed group in central Somalia.

He expressed hope over the prospective talks between Galmudug and Ahlu Sunna in Dhusamareb town, the capital of Galgaduud region.

“My government will play a big role in the negotiations, we will come up with new strategy to end the long-running conflict in central Somalia,” said Hashi who spoke to Goobjoog News.

The Somali PM urged the local elders, politicians, and scholars to help both rival sides to open talks aimed at ending their differences.
