Galmudug police arrests several men over gang rape of Women

Several gunmen have been arrested in Bandiiradley for raping women in the area, following massive security operation..

“Galmudug police have solved [the crime] by apprehending gunmen in the rape case of local women,” said Galmudug deputy police commissioner, Abdi jama’a Habeb .

The men were detained in a massive operation following several sexual assaults occurred recorded from the area.

The deputy commissioner said that the alleged rapists are local militias in the area.

Sources say that the women were several times abducted by several men from the area as that created public outcry.

Meanwhile security operations conducted in an area suspected to be the hideouts of Al-Shabab fighters arresting dozens of suspected Al-Shabab fighters.

“The operations were intended to beef up the security of Galmudug and as well as the whole Somalia, the forces apprehended several suspected Al-Shabab members and they will be investigated thoroughly” he underlined.
He finally called upon the residents of Galmudug to collaborate with the soldiers as to tighten the security.
