Galmudug reconciliation conference to kick-off, as Hobyo conference concludes
The long waited Galmudug reconciliation conference is today ultimately expected to be launched in the coming hours at Dhusamreeb, the capital administrative of Galmudug state.
The conference was before scheduled to open on yesterday but was delayed for technical reasons.
Somali Prime Minister, Hassan Ali Kheyre is in Galmudug state capital Dusamareb for the last three days for his second time to the region to launch the Galmudug Reconciliation Conference.
The conference is expected to be discussed in the formation of an inclusive government in the state.
Security has been tightened in Dhusamareb by the federal government and AMISOM forces that were deployed to the town last month.
Meanwhile, The Habargidir clan reconciliation conference in Hobyo, north-central Mudug of Galmudug state was today officially concluded.
The conference on Wednesday elected Prof. Abdikadir Mohamed Shirwa as the chairman of the community leadership committee.
During the closing ceremony of the conference, senior officials from the federal government of Somalia have attended led by 1st Deputy speaker of the Upper House of Parliament, Abshir Mohamed Ahmed and several members of the federal parliament including Mahad Ahmed Fiqi, Saabir Shuriye, Abdi Qeydid and Galmudug presidential candidate Abdirahman Odowa
