Galmudug State terms the peace with Puntland as fragile

Galmudug state of Somalia has accused neighboring Puntland State for not being serious to implement Galkio Peace deal points.

The state’s interior minister Omar Mohmamd Diriye warned that the situation is still fragile and that the two states did not settle all the pending issues, giving responsibility to Puntland.

Minister Mohammad Diriye cited the recent snub of Puntland state to attend federal states local governments’ conference in Adado as sign of distrust between the two states.

Galmudug minister said that his state cabinet deliberates whether to attend Federal conferences in Puntland or not. “ Galmudug cabinet deliberates this matter. As you know the two states fought in last December and later reached an agreement but still the distrust and the tension is here”

International community and Somali Federal government brokered an peace agreement between the two states last December after fierce fight that killed many people including civilians.
