Update:Garissa University College attack death toll hits 147

The death toll in the attack by Al-Shabab fighters on a university in Northeastern Kenya on Thursday has risen to 147 and the siege has concluded according to the country’s disaster response agency.
There are “147 fatalities confirmed in the Garissa attack,” the national disaster operations centre said in a statement, confirming the siege was now over with all attackers dead.

Four gunmen were killed and some police officers from the Recce squad injured during the operation.
In the final hour before darkness fell, Kenyan troops stormed the student dormitory where the gunmen were holed up as explosions and heavy gunfire rang out. Troops then continued to search the campus for any possible insurgents.
At least 100 got injured while others 500 were rescued, according to the government.
