Gedo drought committee distributes food aid to drought hit families

Gedo drought committee has started distributing food to families in areas under Garbaharey district.

The chairman of the committee Abdi Shire Warsame told Goobjoog FM that the committee has made tremendious efforts to deliver food aid to residents and will start supplying water to the drought hit areas in the region.

He stated that the federal government has delivered the first emergency food aid to the affected people but not enough to the large number of the drought hit people in dire humanitarian conditions.

He called the well-wishers and humanitarian aid agencies to give a helping hand to Gedo residents facing the worst humanitarian conditions.
