Gunmen assassinate prominent teacher in Beledweyne

A prominent teacher was assassinated in Beledweyne, the headquarters of Hiran region by gunmen. Goobjoog FM correspondent reports.

Assailants armed with pistols shot Abdi Captain several times on the head, while he was going to his residence after the Taraweeh prayers.

The teacher is said to have been a lecturer at Hiran University and a teacher at a secondary school in Beledweyne district.

The motive behind the murder is not known as no one immediately claimed the responsibility.
