Gunmen kill a university lecturer in Mogadishu

Unidentified gunmen shot dead a university lecturer at Daynile district Mogadishu on early Monday morning as he was driving to his job destination.

Gunmen armed with pistols as usual fled the scene immediately on foot before security forces were alerted about the murder.

Witness has told Goobjoog that the murdered lecture was idenfied as Mohamed Ahmed Ongoye a staff at Horn Africa University.

The deceased lecturer aged 30 has left three children and a pregnant wife, according to his relatives

Mohamed Ahmed who fled the country has graduated his primary and secondary studies from Dadaab refugee Kenya and come back to the country in 2014.

Mohamed joined Horn of Africa University in Mogadishu and graduated in 2017 and later joined Horn Africa University as an English lecturer.

Authorities have yet to comment on the latest killing as the hit squad seems to be upping their activities to target key people in the district and elsewhere in the capital.
