Hiran governor declares conference date for state formation

Abdifatah Hassan Afrah, federal governor of Hiran has announced that state formation conference for Hiran and Middle Shabelle regions would kick start the following days.

He said President Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud is due to travel to Baladweyne to open the conference, which would be the last federal state to be formed in the current arrangement.

The governor was addressing hundreds of Baladweyne residents who gathered to welcome him.

‘The conference would start soon here in Baladweyn, and it will start during this week” he said to loud applause from the eagerly public.

According vision 2016 backed by the international community, Somalia should complete federalization process before the end of this current government.

Last month, Galmudug State has taken shape with the election of Abdikarim Hussein Guled.
