Human Rights Training for 25 Legal Aid Lawyers held in Garowe

UNSOM Human Rights Section in collaboration with Puntland State University (PSU) Legal Aid Clinic started a three-day Human Rights training for 25 Legal Aid Lawyers from across Puntland on Fair Trial Standards at UNSOM Compound.
The main objective of the training is to equip Legal Aid Lawyers with better skills and techniques of how to monitor and observe rights of those accused of crimes punishable by death penalty, as well as national and international safeguards.
During training sessions, law experts will provide lessons on International Human Rights law, the national legal framework, Human Rights in Islam, the right to fair trail and the role of the Lawyers in preventing and protecting Human Rights.
