Because of local political dispute, Galmudug was unable to solve its bone of contention with Ahlu Sunna (Galmudug-based paramilitary group consisting of moderate Sufis opposed to Islamist groups such as Al-Shabaab). Reconciliation meetings were held where the first round of talks went successfully. Unfortunately while in the middle of the second, it was curtailed by the presidential campaign of Galmudug State.

On the regional level, he informed both leaders of Puntland and Galmudug to work in unison for peace, reconciliation and reducing internal political friction. In particular attention, he strongly highlighted on the free movement of people between the two States to become a reality.

Two or four years are too small” President Farmajo’s said. Restrain to be exercised towards the government and a motion of no confidence not to be seen as a quick option that will work for the distressed people neither poverty nor diseases.
