Jubbaland names presidential electoral committee
Speaker of Jubbaland parliament Sheikh Abdi Mohamed Osman has today announced the electoral committee for the upcoming presidential elections to be held on 15th of August, 2015.
The interim committee would oversee the smooth running of election of the president and his deputy and consists 9 members.
The speaker has asked the committee to come up with electoral procedure in two days and follow the regional charter when drafting.
The committee is drawn from the parliament and is headed by a woman and they are as follows
- Habiba Mohamed Abdulle – Chairlady
- Ahmed Abdihafid Mohamed – Deputy Chairman
- Hussein Hersi Ahmed – Member
- Abdi Mohamed Abdi – Member
- Osman Hussein Roble – Member
- Bashir Ahmed Omar – Member
- Hassan Haji Mohamed – Member
- Ahmed Ismael – Member
- Abbas Ali Ibrahim – Member
