Jubbaland state security ambushes Alshabab fighters outskirt Kismayo
Jubbaland state security forces on patrol today ambushed Alshabab fighters at Wirkoy location, outskirt of Kismayo town, the state capital, leading to a heavy exchange of gunfire between the warring parties.
The fighting still ongoing where sporadic outburst of gunfire can be heard around the location and casualties are not yet known so far.
No statement has been released by the state military commanders on the latest confrontation.
Separately a hand grenade was this morning hurled at a government checkpoint in Fagah 4 ways junction, a diving municipal administration point between Kaaraan and Yakshid districts in Mogadishu.
The attack injured 5 people including some civilians as confirmed to Goobjoog News by an eye witness .
The incident caused a long snake of traffic jam in the area which is a busy corner of the Somali capital with cars and pedestrians.
