Keating “Somalia’s Future is in the hands of the Somali people”

UN Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Somalia, Michael Keating today spoke on the platform organized by NUSOJ, discussing the media to take part in the contribution of good governance, peace and democracy in Somalia.

Michael Keating also praised the article 18 of the Provisional Constitution on Freedom of Conscience and Meditation, which states:

(1) Every person has the right to present, and express his or her opinion, information or ideas in any way.

(2) Freedom of expression, including freedom of speech, media and any other electronic media.

(3) Every person has the right to demonstrate his or her artistic abilities. intellectual freedom and research freedom.

On the other hand, the audience in the panel of the discussion includes Abdirahman Diinari, a former journalist and ambassador, said: “killing of journalists in Somalia is no longer there, and the United Nations should support them financially, and to train them.”
