Five people were killed and five others wounded on Saturday when a car loaded with explosives detonated a car bomb on a busy road in Mogadishu, witness said.

“A car loaded with explosives was detonated near X-Cinema Somalia and five people mostly pedestrians died and five other injured”  Hawa Omar said.

Another Witness confirmed to Goobjoog News that five pedestrians who happened to near the blast during the explosion have sustained injuries.

The incident occurred few minutes after gunmen first opened fire on Galmudug speaker’s car and he sustained light injures.

Hussein Ali Wehliye  Irfo was injured in drive-by-shooting while on his way to hotel  in Hamareyne .

“The gunmen riding in a car attacked the speaker and there was exchange of gunfire… then there was a huge blast,” said Abdi Mudey, who was near Makka Al-Mukarama Road where the attack took place.

“I saw several people who were seriously wounded.”
