Lower House election to commence this in Hirshabelle state

Somalia’s youngest regional state will start the election of lower house member within this week amid delay face election of  the upper house scheduled to take place two days ago.

Hirshabelle president Ali Abdullahi Osoble told the reporters that elections of lower house will be held after three days.

“It historical for both Hirshabelle and Somalia, we are expecting start the parliamentary elections after three days, this shows that Somalia is capable of  managing its affairs within short period,”said Osoble.

He said the first phase of the elections will go smoothly as the security of the town has been beefed up.

“There will be no hiccups at all and the process will end peacefully if God willingly,” Osoble hopped.

Four other regional states; Puntland, Jubbaland and South-West State, will also participate in second phase of the Lower House elections.

The electoral process will see a total of 275 members elected to the Lower House.

Both the Lower and Upper Houses of parliament will elect Somalia’s next president in polls due at the end of November.
