Massive security operation underway in Gedo region

Several locations surrounding Bardere town in Gedo region are under heavy security operation conducted by the Federal Somali armed forces.

The area of the operation is where the government armed forces and Alshabab fighters recently engaged in a battle.

Last night there were sounds of artillery bombardments heard in the area according to some news source.

Government security officials contacted by Goobjoog News were reticent to divulge much information regarding casualties as a result of exchange of heavy gunfire in the area. They only confirmed being engaged in security operation to maintain peace in the region.
