Some members of Puntland military forces in mutiny attacked Galkayo airport with rocket propelled grenades earlier today.
During the attack the forces were complaining that they have not received their salaries and wages for months.
Our correspondent in Galkayo reports that the sound of the heavy artillery fired to the airport was heard all over the villages West of the city, where the soldiers were stationed since last night.
No casualties reported so far, but the activities in the airport temporarily stopped, the administration of Puntland has declined to give any comment about that attack.
April 2014, two UN worker were killed by a man dressed in military uniform inside Galkayo airport after getting off a plane.
