Shabaab suspects handed jail terms by Mogadishu military court

Eight Al-Shabaab suspects among them one woman were sentenced to between eight years and life imprisonment for their membership of the group and conducting bomb attacks in Mogadishu.

Ahmed Abdulkadir Ahmed was sentenced to life while five others Abdirahman Nur Mohamed Jimale, Safi Issei Awoh, Yasin Mohamed Abtidoon, Abdishakur Ali Mohamud and Farhan Adan Yusuf Wehliye were handed 15 years in jail.

The court also sentenced Farhan Farah Mohamud Fiidow and Hassan Sheikh Abdullahi Abukar 8 years in prison according to their case.

The military court ordered Abdi Khadar Mire Ahmed be released for lack of evidence.
