Storyline:National News

Farah Mohamed, one of the MPs of Hirshabelle administrations, told Goobjoog News that the security exhaustion in Mogadishu-Jowhar road has affected the parliaments’ sessions.

He said “the MPs are expected to open a session on Tuesday, but delayed.

The members of the parliament could not travel to Mogadishu and Jowhar road because of the dangerous insecurity in the region; as well aeroplanes are needed for the members of the parliament to travel to Jowhar.”

Farah said Al-Shabaab attacks are carried out in the road between Mogadishu and Jowhar, Hirshabelle administration requires a great security support from the national government.

“Security Challenges are all over the country, but currently, the road link between Mogadishu and Balcad are committed on dangerous attacks by al-Shabaab fighters targeting Hirshabelle Administration along with the government officials. And it can only be addressed nationally and not Hirshabelle alone can do something,” said the MP.

Hirshabelle MPs have called on the Somali federal government to address the security situation in Mogadishu and Jowhar road.

Members of Hirshabelle parliaments alongside with their soldiers were killed in the road between Mogadishu and Jowhar following al Shabaab gunfire on their vehicles two months ago.
