Mogadishu mayor launch a new project to train 400 youth in Mogadishu

Mogadishu’mayor and the Governor of Banadir region Mr Abdirahman Omar Osman (Eng.Jarisow) has today launched a project to train 400 youths from the city of Mogadishu, Baidoa and Kismayo.

The project funded by UNDP is intended to benefit 400 young people of both males and females which will get 3 months training of building up and the maintenance of the solar system and will be provided tools to work in the first six months of internships after their graduation.

The governor of Banadir region said in his opening speech that his administration is committed to job creation of youth and to find a solution to the unemployment and focuses on the training of youth skills training.

Eng. Yarisow has also pointed out that 50 per cent of the youths who participate in the training are women, with the intention of women’s role in employment and opportunities.

This project is the resolution of the Banadir region and is implemented by the private sector and the SECCO partner on which the 17 districts of Banadir will have the opportunity to select students who are qualified to benefit from the project.
