My government will not extend its mandated term beyond 2016, says Somali President

Hassan Sheikh MohamudSomali president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has reiterated that his government does not want, nor will it seek to extend its mandated term beyond September 2016.
The president welcomed members Peace and Development Party (PDP) to the Villa Somalia for a shared Iftar meal to celebrate Ramadan.
He has underlined that some of the six pillars of his government have been fulfilled and the rest are underway.
“The government has reached progresses including fighting against corruption, expansion of federalism, good governance and preparation political changes in the nation in the year 2016 which will be part of 2016 vision as the country is covering from the civil war and needs rebuilding” he said.
He added that the parliament will debate on proposed bill of political parties and that all the political parties including PDP will be guide on the constitutional systems as they will be registered.
The president urged the members of PDP members redouble efforts to help the public such as helping the needy and implementing developmental projects.
