New Displaced Families from Lower Shabelle Clashes Arrive in Garas Balley

Storyline:National News

New displaced families from the recurrent typical clashes between government forces and Alshabab fighters in Lower Shabelle arrived in Garas Balley, a location outskirt of Mogadishu.

More than 500 families reached the area joining former displaced families who are already camped in Garas Balley.

The deputy chairperson of Social Affairs of Garas Balley Administration Abdullahi Abdi who spoke to Goobjoog News said the new displaced people portray an image of hardship and need emergency assistance.

‘‘A total of 500 families arrived in Garas Balley among them 200 families which came yesterday. They have no shelter. They just settled in the camps containing earlier IDPs” said Abdi.

Meanwhile he appealed to the Banadir Administration to provide a quick emergency assistance to the displaced families in Garas Balley.

The frequent fighting in Lower Shablle region has negatively affected civilians who used to lead normal lives to run from their homes.
