New Inland intermodal terminal to support main Mogadishu sea port opened in Mogadishu

Dry inland port which is designed to speed the flow of cargos and imports coming through Mogadishu main sea port  opened today at the presence of Somali president.

Somali President Hassan sheikh Mahamoud, Federal ministries and businessmen attended the opening ceremony of the new dry land port terminal.

The terminal directly connects to Mogadishu main seaport and designed to operate as a centre for the transshipment of sea cargo to inland destinations and inspections.

Dubai based shipping company SIMATECH and Somali businessmen invested the project.

Somali president Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud hailed the project and said Somalia needs investment to develop “My government is ready to encourage this kind of investment. We need to develop basic infrastructure facilities in the country” said the president
