Official from premier’s office gunned down in Mogadishu

Unidentified young men armed with pistols gunned down one of somali premier’s office workers, Saed Ali Salah in Dharkeyley, Mogadishu on Saturday morning.

The officer was killed as he was passing near Moalim Noor mosque on his way to work according to witness.

One of the residents who happened to be near the incident during the attack said that the assailant who were trailing the officer shot him dead and immediately managed to escap from the scene of the crime.

Security forces are reported to have arrived the scene and launched operation to hunt down the perpetrators.

No one has claimed the responsibility of the assault but Alshabab Amniyat branch is notorious of carrying out systemic spate of killings against Federal government officers in the district.

Several officers working at the premier’s office were assassinated the latest being an officer from the office of the Prime Ministers who was assassinated by unknown gun men on 21 June.
