Senate committee engages security chiefs on retirement bill

The Senate Defence and Security Committee today held deliberations from the country’s security heads as they sought their views on the Security Forces Retirement Bill currently before the Senate.

General Jama Mohamed Qalib, who has previously held various positions in the country including Chief of Police and Brigadier General Mohamud Sheikh Ali Dable Bayloot, has spoken about the bill and the proper form of the armed forces would have been done.

The Bill aims to provide a welfare programme for retired members of the disciplined forces which include the military, police, intelligence and correctional departments.
