PM announces Vision 2016 Summit date
The Somali Prime Minister Omar Abdirashid has announced that on 29th of July, 2015 a high level summit about Vision 2016 will be held in Mogadishu, bringing together the federal top leaders and regional leaders.
The much awaited summit will focus on discussing and agreeing on modalities for transition and the mandate of the current government when its term ends on August 2016.
This may include selection of new MPs to form a parliament and the election of new president by MPs or constituent assembly.
But there is uncertainty that Puntland and Jubbaland leaders will take part in the summit as they have unresolved issues with the federal government.
However Galmudug president Abdikarim Hussein Guled and South West President Sharif Hassan Sheik Adan are already in Mogadishu ready to take part in the summit.
