Prime Minister Hassan Khaire today laid the foundation stone for the reconstruction of the Ministry of Planning headquarters in Zoope, Mogadishu.

“We want to reconstruct the ministry buildings within a year as part of progress by the government,” the PM said. “We will also reconstruct the ministry of Interior and all government buildings that were destroyed.”
Most government ministries share office blocks since most of the buildings remain in dilapidated stated following the destruction.
The PM urged Somalis to support the government in its efforts towards restoring the country’s infrastructure.
The Qatari government last year pledged to construct the Mogadishu-Jowhwar and Mogadishu-Afgoye roads.
Earlier, major city roads including KM5, 4 and Maka al Mukarama were closed ahead of the Prime Minister’s arrival.
