Police in Baidao “Business People and Teachers are Behind the Murders”

Somali PoliceThe police in Baidao have come out for the first time with clues of who might be behind the spate of killings in the town.

They accuse the business people and teachers as prime suspects in their investigation into the killings of the well-known Islamic Scholars in the town. There have been four high profile murders in the town for the last two months.

Col. Mahad Abdirahman, police commissioner of Bay Region has told Goobjoog that these Koranic teachers were trained by Al-shabab at Diinsoor district and sent to Baidao to execute the murderous mission.

“There has a trend we noticed, the businessmen and teachers, both Koranic and Secular teachers, goes to Alshabab controlled areas to take some courses, they then came back to Baidao who execute Alshabab orders, we are now giving them the last warning, anyone who goes to Alshabab areas for whatever reason, don’t came back here, if you do we will deal with you same as we dealt with Alshabab elements” said Col. Dahir.

The police commander who also commented about the progress they made so far in their investigation has said that they made some arrests in connection with the murders of religious scholars.
