President Farmajo call the police to maintain law and order

The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo has sent a congratulatory message to the members of the Somali Police Force on the occasion of their 75th anniversary since its inception in 20th December 1943.

The event, which was held today at Stadium Koonis in Mogadishu, has attended many government officials and attracted a large population of the people in the capital Mogadishu.

“The Somali Police Force is the mother of all the various forces of Somalia. The force is a symbol of Somalia’s recovery as we know the force has been able to protect the archives of the Somali police force,” The president said.

He added that the Somali Police Force is a central pillar in the maintenance of law and order and asked the public to know that the law is the key to justice and peace.

“Your discipline will enhance your skills-set, knowledge, and expertise required for police officers to protect the people, your number one duty as officers.” said president Farmajo

President Farmajo has concluded that the government will give its priority to the police and hand over all the types of equipment needed from a police officer in order for them to compete with other police officers in the world.”

Somali Police Force which was once one of the well organized and strongest in the African continent before the breakout of the civil war in the 1990s was established in 1943 by the colonial master Italy and it served as one of the principal organs of the Somali Armed Forces.
