President Gaas: PM Abdiweli’s trip to Garowe will restore the ties between federal government and Puntland

The president of semi autonomous regional state of Puntland Abdiweli Mohamed Ali Gaas is expressing a good hope that the ties between the federal government and Puntland regional state will improve and strengthen.

President Gaas said the trip of Somalia Prime minister Abdiweli Sheikh Ahmed to Garowe will restore the relations between the federal government of Somalia and Puntland state in North eastern Somalia.

President Gaas said the grievances of Puntland are valid and need proper and intensive discussions for immediate reinstallation of collaborations and ties between the sides

The Prime Minister of Somalia Abdiweli Sheikh Ahmed has reached Garowe, the administrative capital of Puntland on Friday to meet the top leaders of the regional state and discuss wide range issuies to solve the difference between federal government and puntland state over federalism, oil exploration, aid and revenue.

Puntland has cut ties with the federal government following the announcement of the formation of new administration in Central regions of Somalia.

In press conference after taking extra-ordinary meeting with his cabinet president Gaas said the signing of the agreement to form a new federal state for Mudug and Galgadud regions totally opposes the constitution o the country which clearly states the style to establish the Federal Member States.
