President Haaf accepts regional election, says Galmudug and Ahlu Sunnah agreement is ‘broken’
According to a letter issued by Galmudug leader Ahmed Duale Haaf last night after he has left his real residence in Dhusamareeb on yesterday says he accepts the region’s leadership elections to be held on time.
President Haaf added to the statement that the dispute between the federal government and his administration is now over and ready to closely work with them.
In a stunning twist, the letter says that the agreement reached between Galmudug and Ahlu Sunna Wal Jama in Djibouti and signed successfully in the capital Mogadishu has totally been discarded.
According to a statement released by the president, Galmudug Ahmed Duale Haaf has urged the federal government of Somalia to hold Galmudug election in Cadado town.
This diversity comes last week after the ministry of interior and reconciliation of the FGS has called Galmudug leaders to hold the election on time says mandate for current leadership expires on July 4 2019, while Galmudug has a different take of the process and previously argued current mandate end in 2 years time.
