President Haaf term ‘illicit’ to the FGS statement on Galmudug’s election

President of Galmudug state Ahmed Gelle Haaf, who returned to Dusamareb the administrative capital of the region today has immediately addressed a press conference in a company with the head of the government of Sheikh Shakir and they termed ‘unlawful’ to the statement issued by the ministry of internal affairs of the federal government of Somalia on to the elections of the Galmudug state.

President Haaf on talking to the media said “Galmudug is a free and independent from the federal government, added that Galmudug is not a new state and has its own constitution, its own parliament and it’s a sovereign state,”

President Haaf signalled the Somali community and the people of Galmudug region to be very keen on the matter and reveal how the federal government is violating the law that was determined to protect us.

Somali government tells Galmudug to hold regional elections on time, says mandate for current leadership expires on July 4, while Galmudug has a different take of the process and previously argued current mandate end in 2 years time.
