The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, HE Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, has sent condolences to the President of Republic of Kenya, HE Uhuru Kenyatta, and the people of Kenya, following the attack at Garissa University in North Eastern Kenya, which claimed the lives of innocent students and other people.
‘’On behalf of the Federal Republic of Somalia, I extend condolences to the families of those who have died in this attack by the merciless Al-Shabab fighters. I pray for the quick recovery of the injured’’, said the President.
The President has strongly condemned this attack, calling it a barbaric act, which has nothing to do with religion or culture.
President Mohamud, added that the attack at Garissa University shows the need to reinforce the anti-terror cooperation between the two countries, with the aim to eliminate this menace from the region.
“I am quite certain that we will defeat these groups. Kenyans have sacrificed their lives to bring peace into our country, and I am aware that the Al-Shabab fughters are not happy with that support. Their acts will not hamper our struggle to root out Al-Shabab fighters and bring peace and prosperity to this region’’.
