President of Somalia to open officially Bossaso airport

Somali president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud is expected to open officially the First Full Facility Airport in Bassaso town.

A delegation of the Somali Federal government spearheaded by the Somali President reached at the coastal town on Thursday .

Senior Somali politicians including two former Somali Prime Ministers are however believed to attend the historic opening of the first mega project successfully implemented in Somalia following the downfall of the central government in more than two decades back.

The first International Airport in Puntland pops up in Bossaso, the autonomous’s main commercial hub in Northern Eastern Horn of Somalia.

The Airport with upgraded facility of 2.4 asphalt runway, numerous paved roads and Modernised Terminal has been undergoing major works by China owned International company called CCECC.
Remarkable, the state is experiencing its biggest booms in economic infrastructure in its 17-years of existence as part of the forefront strategies of the current leadership of Puntland.
