HirShabelle president Mohamed Waare Saturday night met a section of lawmakers in Jowhar in what sources said were efforts aimed at toning down the impeachment rhetoric amid reports the state MPs were fine tuning a no-confidence motion against him.

Sources told Goobjoog News Waare urged the lawmakers to drop the impeachment bid and instead focus efforts on developing the nascent state.

Proponents of the motion are accusing Waare of incompetence and failing securing situation in the state in the wake of Al-Shabaab move to close main supply routes connecting Jowhar and Mogadishu.

Waare dropped his anti-government stance late month after a week-long meeting in Mogadishu distancing himself from the decision by his fellow state leaders to cease cooperation with the Federal Government.
