Puntland Masses Troops In Galka’ayo

The semi-autonomous regional state of Puntland has unveiled that it has deployed some of its soldiers to Galka’ayo town, the section under its administration.

Muhudin Yussuf Samatar, the Chief suburb howl-wadag of Galmudug State has confirmed to Goobjoog News the presence of new puntland troops in Galkaayo town.

He added the troops are ones who went on strike over missing rights and they left Garowe, the capital administrative of Puntland state, to stay in Galka’ayo till further notice.

The chief underlined that security of the town is being tightened as he refuted reports saying that the troops were stationed in Galka’ayo town, the side Puntland administers.

“I confirm to you that Puntland troops are present in Galka’ayo but I heard that the troops are on strike over salary overdue” he said.

There had been emerging reports that Puntland is planning to deploy troops at the border it share with Galmudug state following argument sparks over soon-to-be completed Galmudug state which is being accused of grabbing part Puntland territory by Puntland leaders.
