Puntland police mounts extra checkpoints in Garowe

Storyline:National News

Puntland security forces have mounted extra checkpoints outside the capital city, Garowe to beef up security.

According to Nugal region governor Abdullahi Isse Aw Ahmed, this is a new security arrangement to deter all potential threats in Puntland since the restruction of security command there.

Speaking about a grenade blast in Garowe a forth night ago, the governor said “according to security experts, that were not an attack, it might be a grenade that has fallen from a moving car accidently, we don’t have attacks here, and it’s tight”.

Puntland has also deployed more forces in and around the city and elsewhere in a bid to neutralize criminal sleeping cells.

The relatively stable administration has went through some upheavals in the recent months and now is in the process of setting things straight, both security wise and politically stability.
