Puntland President Explains Ethiopia Trip

President  Abdiweli  Mohamed Ali Gas and  delegation  led by  him have today returned to Garowe,  the capital city of Puntland.

The President and his  delegation were warmly  received at the airport by the vice president of Puntland state  Abdihakiin Abdullahi Haji Omar Gamey , the speaker of the Puntland parliament   Saeed Hassan Shire, MPs, and army officials from putland forces .

Also at the airport were supporters and citizens of Puntland who also welcomes the president back at home, among them  were men and women who  dressed in clothes  marked with  Somalia and Putland flags .

Abdi weli Mohamed Ali  Gas, addressed the media his tour to Ethiopia at the presidential palace in Garowe.

“I am very pleased that I  return to country when  it is peaceful  and i have been in  Ethopia especially Addis Ababa for one week on official visit, relating to the security and the trade between the two countries and which were concluded well” Abdiweli said.

He added that customs between the countries would  be opened soon  and would be benefit for the traders of both sides.

“The security  collaboration of the  two sides is well, and we have amalgamated to fight against one enemy ” added Mr. Abdiweli

Finally president Gas told that Putland would do asset and  international investors would come to Putland which would be benefit for the people of Putland .

Puntland shares long border line with the landlocked Ethiopia, trade between the two sides were always hampered by restrictions from Ethiopia who worry cross border insurgents. Puntland want Ethiopia to use the port of Bosaso as this would boost trade and development.
