Qatar to support somalia in Somali Army rebuilding

Qatar has said that it will continue  to support in rebuilding Somalia army and efforts to build a stable, democratic, unified and sovereign state in Somalia following the deadly suicide attack near Somalia’s presidential palace that claimed lives of over 15 people.

It affirmed solidarity with the government and people of Somalia, and its support to all efforts towards maintaining stability and security in the country.

In a statement yesterday, Qatar Defense Ministry said they will work closely with Somalia in the fight to annihilate terrorists across Somalia.

“Qatar will continue to provide support to the brethren in Somalia in the efforts rebuild its military and defeat terrorists in Somalia,” noted the ministry.

The ministry expressed strong condemnation suicide attack near presidential palace in Mogadishu.

“Qatar condemns this criminal act which contradicts human values and principles,” emphasized the ministry.

The statement stressed Qatar’s firm position that rejects violence in all its forms and manifestations and expressed Qatar’s condolences to the families of the victims, the government and people of Somalia.

The suicide bomber has detonated an explosives-laden truck near the gate of Somalia’s presidential palace and SYL Hotel which is frequented by government officials and business executives.

Al-Shabaab has claimed responsibility for the attack which claimed lives of at least 10 people, including innocent civilians who were using the road at the time of the explosions.
