Somali government has granted rights to the Gulf nation of Qatar to import 14 antelopes from Somalia

A statement from the Ministry of Livestock indicated that Qatari embassy in Mogadishu would have permission to transfer the animals to their country.

The letter noted the process had also been given a nod by the ministry of health adding that all health measures had been completed to allow the export.

In 2011 UAE was been accused of playing a key role in accommodating the movement of illegally traded wildlife from war-torn Somalia, according to the International Fund for Animal Welfare (Ifaw).
