Qeybdiid calls on consultation with Mudug residents

The administration of Galmudug in Central Somalia is making arrangements to meet the locals in Mudug region and fully discuss the formation of unified regional state for Galgadud and Mudug regions.

Galmudug president Abdi Hassan Awale Qeybdiid who returned to Galkayo said his administration is committed to make consultations with the different parts of local community to in the region to discuss the suitable ways of establishing a strong administration in the region.

He stated that he is hopeful that the local community will be satisfied by his administration’s efforts and the agreement signed in Villa Somalia to establish an inclusive and unified administration in Central Somalia.

Mr. Qeybdiid on Thursday met with Himan & Heb administration leaders and civil society to discuss to establish a combined administration in Central Somalia.

President Qeybdiid urged the intellectuals and traditional elders in the region to play their part in backing up the formation of regional administration conference that is due to open in Adado.

He said the technical committee to facilitate the state formation process will arrive in Adado town, where politicians and community elders are expected to gather ahead of the state formation conference.

The remarks of president Abdi Qeybdiid comes a time Puntland cabinet ministers in an extraordinary in Garowe issued statement about the growing tensions between Galmudug and Puntland administrations and warned against conflicts and bloodshed in the region.
