Reconciliation conference for Gedo clans Kicks off in Kismayo

Jubbaland president Ahmed Mohamed has officially opened reconciliation conference for clans of Gedo region clans in Kismayo town.

Speaking at the conference, Modabe said that the aim of the conference is to end the hostilities and tensions and strengthen the brotherly bond among the clans in the region.

“ Gedo is committed to strengthen the brotherly bond among the clans in the region so that they live peacefully” he said.

He underlined the importance peace and the role of people in the region should have to play to stabilize their region.
The conflict between the militia and forces allied to the former governor of Gedo region and incumbent governor is escalating.
