Saudi Arabia, Egypt, UAE breaks ties with Qatar over Terrorism

Saudi Arabia, UAE, Egypt and some other gulf states cut ties with Qatar on Monday on a level never seen before on terrorists affiliated actions.

Qatar is seen supporting Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and having soft stance on Iran, the arch-enemy of all the Arab Gulf States.

The three countries jointly severed ties with Qatar and gave its people both visitors and residents to leave with a fortnight. It was also ejected from a Saudi-led coalition fighting in Yemen.

Against this background, Qatar is due o hold the World Cup in 2022.

“(Qatar) embraces multiple terrorist and sectarian groups aimed at disturbing stability in the region, including the Muslim Brotherhood, ISIS (Islamic State) and al-Qaeda, and promotes the message and schemes of these groups through their media constantly,” SPA said.

Among the accusations from Bahrain include supporting as Iranian-backed militants in its restive and largely Shi’ite Muslim-populated Eastern region of Qatif and in Bahrain.

The Arab world’s most populous nation which is Egypt said in its news agency that Qatar “threatens Arab national security and sows the seeds of strife and division within Arab societies according to a deliberate plan aimed at the unity and interests of the Arab nation.”

Qatar has yet to respond to these accusations.
